Kabir Singh is a Hindi remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey added to the charisma of the Telugu film. Every frame of Shahid Kapoor's film is a copy of the original. However, director Sandeep Vanga Reddy has made every effort to meet the expectations of Hindi audiences. Kabir Singh has many flaws. He is a drug addict, considers women his property, and is a crazy lover. But it's important to understand how Kabir Singh became such a person. Before dismissing the film as a reflection of a male-dominated society, it's crucial to understand the film's language. If you don't like passionate love stories, Kabir Singh will be enough to keep you going for three hours. Kabir Singh is entirely Shahid Kapoor's film. Love, anger, passion, obsession, indecisiveness, any emotion, Shahid Kapoor has portrayed it brilliantly, and that's why you feel that Kabir Singh is a real human being, not just a character. Sandeep's writing deserves full marks for this. Just as Vijay Deverakonda owned every scene in Arjun Reddy, Shahid Kapoor completely owns Kabir Singh. Although the Telugu film was slightly better than the Hindi film, Kiara Advani has done a good job, but you'll miss Shalini Pandey's innocence. Soham Majumdar, playing Kabir's friend, lightens the film a bit. Arjun Bajwa also has some good scenes as his brother. Suresh Oberoi, Nikita Dutta, and Kamini Kaushal also deliver impressive performances. Overall, Kabir Singh is a wonderful love story that will make you believe in love again. The story may seem familiar, but director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's approach to telling it is unique. Sandeep's mastery of every frame of the film. Telling the story of a hero who lacks heroism, yet at the same time makes you fall in love, is a Herculean task, and Sandeep has accomplished it brilliantly. Sandeep has masterfully utilized all the craft of the film, from the screenplay to the cinematography, the background score to the songs. He has used them all as characters to elevate the film to a different level.
In terms of acting, Shahid Kapoor once again proves that he can master any role, no matter how difficult it is. From a full-blooded college student to an unusual surgeon who knowingly destroys his own life, Shahid has portrayed all these shades beautifully. Kiara Advani's character, in my opinion, was a bit weak. There's no reason or logic to why she's so helpless in front of Kabir. Nevertheless, Kiara brought Preeti to life. Legendary actors like Kamini Kaushal and Suresh Oberoi made their presence felt. It would have been better if Arjan Bajwa had been given a few more scenes.
The most notable performance was that of Kabir Singh's friend (Soham Majumdar), who proved himself to be a brilliant actor in every scene. It's not that everything is good. The film's length is too long, which may bother you. By the interval, the heroine's innocence may even seem foolish to you. It is said that no work of art is perfect; along with the good, a little bad is also bound to come.
