HEROPANTI MOVIE REVIEW


 Watching the trailer for "Heropanti," you must have already figured out what it is that others don't know, but Tiger Shroff can't! However, the reality is quite the opposite. Tiger will have to learn to master the art of heroism on screen, as he's easily included in the list of star sons who fail to impress in their debut film.


His action scenes may be captivating, but he'll need to work on his romantic scenes and dialogue delivery. What he's done in "Heropanti" isn't enough for a long run. Director Sabbir Khan hasn't done any better here than he did in his debut film, "Kambakht Ishq" (Akshay and Kareena).


Heropanti is a remake of the Tamil film "Parugu." Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan have squeezed the box office for remakes of South Indian films to such an extent that there's no room for a new actor like Tiger. Therefore, it's crucial for Tiger to protect himself, or he'll become an easy target for such films.


"Heropanti" is another mix of hundreds of Bollywood formula films. In the country's "Jatland," the daughter of the powerful Chaudhary (Prakash Raj) has eloped with her lover, and a massive search is underway. Chaudhary's goons are arresting the friends of the boy she eloped with.


During this search, they find Bablu (Tiger). The twist in the story is that Chaudhary's other daughter, Dimpy (Kriti), falls in love with this Bablu! This again raises the question of honor for Chaudhary. At one point in the film, a distraught Chaudhary asks, "What is it about you that my daughter sees and I don't?" The audience bursts into laughter. There's not much else to know about the film's story. The rest of the action and romance are understandable without being told.


If anything is good in this syrup of action and romance, it's Tiger's action scenes and a couple of songs. It would have been better if the director had portrayed Tiger less as a romantic hero and more as an action hero. Action films can open doors to success for Jackie Shroff's son, but it would be better if he didn't have too many dialogues. He can't hold his own even in serious and romantic scenes. If someone sees a glimpse of Kareena Kapoor in Tiger, they wouldn't be entirely wrong.


The advantage of being a star son is that some initial failures won't affect Tiger, and he'll continue to receive opportunities. As for Kriti Sanon, she's beautiful and even innocent in some scenes. In the film, she oscillates between father and lover. She possesses the qualities typical of typical Bollywood heroines. However, her acting skills also need to improve.


Prakash Raj has impressed, as always, but the question is whether such roles are only written for him in Bollywood. The film's ending may remind you of "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge." A more thorough look at the script would have been better. Well, if you liked Salman Khan's "Bodyguard," you might also like this Tiger film.
