HATE STORY MOVIE REVIEW
Hate Story is the story of journalist Kavya (Paoli Dam) becoming a sex worker and then taking revenge on those who sexually and professionally exploited her.
Kavya is a journalist. She publishes a story about fraud and conspiracy against a cement company, which leads to the company's owner, Siddharth Dhanrajgiri (Gulshan Devaiah), hiring Kavya, who defames his company, to exploit her professionally and sexually.
Kavya then sets out to take revenge on Siddharth and completely destroy him. This impacts Kavya's family and her deeply loved boyfriend, Vicky (Nikhil Dwivedi). Will Kavya succeed in her revenge? What path will she take to achieve this? The answers will be found in 'Hate Story'.
Story Treatment: Kavya resorts to sex, power, and money to take revenge on Siddharth. The first half of the film offers a bit of thrill, but it quickly turns into a disappointment.
The character of Kavya, a journalist turned sex worker, is somewhat engaging, but due to a weak screenplay, some scenes fail to make an impact. While you can go to any lengths to seek revenge, the idea of resorting solely to sex seems a bit far from reality.
Star Cast: These days, Bollywood is making a lot of films on women-centric themes. The story of Hate Story also revolves around Paoli Dam. She has portrayed her bold character with great confidence. Gulshan Devaiah, who proved his mettle in Shaitan, has not disappointed with his performance in this film.
Nikhil Dwivedi's acting is disappointing. He doesn't get a chance to perform, and in the scenes where he should have showcased his acting talent, he proves to be very weak.
Direction: Vivek Agnihotri succeeds in creating thrills in the film, but the clichéd storyline weakens the film.
Dialogues/Cinematography/Music: Due to the political and business background of the story, the dialogues have been written differently which make an impact. The music of the film is nothing special, Dil Kaanch Sa... and the background music is okay as per the story. Cinematography is also good. A revengeful thriller story of a lady journalist who takes on a corrupt industrialist.
This movie got an ‘A’ certificate for a few backless scenes, a couple of oohs and aahs and a lot of emphasis on the word ‘fu*k’. Stars a new comer in Bolloywood Paoli Dam but a well know name in Bengoli cinema and has done a few good movies there. Like me, you might find a striking resemblance to a thinner version of Tanushree Dutta. But am not complaining.
The Story revolves around an important statement – ‘I fu*k those you fu*k with me’. After getting humiliated by the villain (mentally and physically) the protagonist decides to take her revenge by converting herself to a prostitute! Infact she even gets trained by a professional. Plans her moves carefully by sleeping with the top CEO of the company and a big politician to shake the roots of this corrupt company.
Not so polished but good performance by Paoli. She looked comfortable carrying herself in those bold scenes as well. You will particularly get impressed by the villain – Siddharth Dhanrajgir (played by Gulshan Devaiah – also seen in ‘Shaitan’ and ‘Dum Maro Dum’). The way he stammers only in front of his dad but otherwise has a personality of a real industrialist’s son, ensures this man has a long way to go in Bollywood. His upcoming movie this year – ‘Halaahal’.
All said and done, fact remains this is not a main-line-cinema movie. There are no hard hitting names involved, why the lady leaves her shining journalist career – not portrayed clearly, not so gripping story-line – All in all not a movie that will leave an impact.
Having said that it will definitely work for the careers of Paoli and Gulshan. Especially Paoli, as this is a very bold first step into Bollywood. I will not insist you to go watch this one as it will anyways be on TV with all the cuts. Trust me, you will not mind the cuts. mumbai escorts|| gurugram escorts|| call girls in gurugram|| gurugram call girls|| jaipur escorts|| escorts in gurugram||
